Hypnotherapy Q&As

Does hypnotherapy work for phobias?

Yes. Phobias respond beautifully to the combination of hypnosis and NLP, because both work directly on the way your mind stores and replays a fear.

A learned reaction

A phobia was learned, often in a single moment, and the mind is just as quick to learn a calm response in its place. Spiders, birds, dogs, heights, deep water, lifts and enclosed spaces, motorway driving: if your fear isn't on that list, I work with it too.

How I work

With the NLP fast phobia technique, you watch the old response from a safe distance, then rewind it at speed until the memory feels flat and ordinary. I show you how to make frightening images smaller and more distant, then build a steady, confident feeling and rehearse meeting the thing you used to avoid.

You never have to face your fear in the session: the work happens in your imagination, at a comfortable pace. Where a fear began with a specific event, I add regression to release it at its source.

How many sessions

A single, clear phobia usually needs only a few sessions, in person in Bournemouth or online.
