Regression
Regression therapy and regression hypnotherapy in Bournemouth
When a feeling has older roots, regression takes you back to where it began, releases its hold and turns you towards the future you want. One-to-one with me, Tim Dunton, in Bournemouth or online.

When a reaction feels older than you
You know the moment. A raised voice, a room full of strangers or a particular smell, and suddenly you feel small, tense or panicky, far more than the situation deserves. You understand it in your head, yet the feeling arrives first. Reactions like these often carry an emotional imprint from earlier in life, and regression goes straight to that imprint so it stops steering how you feel today.
Regression therapy or regression hypnotherapy?
You'll see both names, and with me they describe the same journey. Hypnosis is the vehicle and regression is the direction of travel: a focused, relaxed state in which your mind follows a present-day feeling back to an earlier experience within your own life story. My work always returns to the future, so every session ends with you looking forward.
How I work
- A clear conversation. You tell me what you want to change, I explain each step, and together we agree the approach. You stay in charge from start to finish.
- Settling into hypnosis. You relax deeply while remaining aware of the room, able to speak and to pause whenever you wish.
- Following the feeling. I guide your attention to the feeling you came about and invites your mind to drift back to an earlier time it was present. Whatever arrives is welcome.
- Releasing the imprint. You revisit that moment as the adult you are now, with all your present-day strength and understanding. I use reframing and NLP techniques so the old feeling loosens and lets go.
- Rehearsing what's next. With the imprint released, you rehearse the situations ahead and feel yourself responding calmly and confidently.
- Talking it through. I gently bring you back to the room, and together we choose one thing to practise before you meet again.
Regression pairs beautifully with other work. It often sits at the heart of phobia hypnotherapy when a fear has a clear starting point, and it draws on my training as an NLP Master Practitioner. See the full range on what I help with.
Sessions in Bournemouth or online
Sessions take place in person in Bournemouth (BH8) or online by video from a quiet, private room at home. Many clients choose the 7-hour course, usually five sessions, which gives time to release what needs releasing and then build forward. You'll leave each session feeling lighter and clear about the next step, and every session is with me personally.
Fees: £195 an hour in person, £150 online, and the 7-hour course at £975 in person or £750 online. Everything is on the fees page, and your first step is a free 15–30 minute consultation.

Questions
Is regression therapy the same as regression hypnotherapy?
With me, yes. Both names describe using hypnosis to follow a feeling back to an earlier experience in your own life, release it, and then focus on the future.
Will I stay in control?
Completely. You are aware throughout, you hear every word, and you choose how far to go. I work gently and at your pace.
What if no memory comes to mind?
That's absolutely fine. I work with the feeling itself, and the release happens at the level of emotion, with or without a clear picture.
Does regression work online?
Yes. Online sessions follow exactly the same steps. Choose a quiet room where you won't be disturbed and sit somewhere comfortable.
Can I see you alongside my GP?
Yes. Keep taking any medication as prescribed: I'm happy to work alongside your GP or medical team.
Or call 07975 653893. Talk it through with me on a free 15–30 minute phone or video call.
