Hypnotherapy Q&As
What is hypnotherapy, and how does it work?
Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis, a naturally relaxed and focused state, to help you change how you think, feel and respond.

Hypnosis, the state
Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed and focused state that you already know: it's close to the moment just before sleep. You hear every word, you stay aware of where you are, and you remain in control throughout.
In this state your mind is open to fresh associations. That openness is what makes change feel natural rather than forced.
Hypnotherapy, the work
Hypnotherapy is what we do with that state. I use Ericksonian hypnotherapy, a gentle, conversational approach shaped around the way you think and speak, together with NLP and coaching. Together we work on the thoughts, feelings and habits behind the problem.
A typical session moves from understanding to change: first I learn exactly how the problem runs for you, then I guide you into hypnosis, and then we build and rehearse the response you want in its place.
Skills you keep
I also teach you self-hypnosis and simple calming techniques drawn from NLP and mindfulness. These become your own tools, ready whenever you need them.
