When food runs the show

You already know what to eat. The trouble starts at four in the afternoon, or once the house goes quiet in the evening, or when a long shift ends and the biscuit tin starts calling. Eating like this runs on autopilot, and it answers feelings: tiredness, stress, boredom, the wish for a small reward at the end of the day. Willpower holds the line for a few weeks, then the old routine creeps back. Hypnotherapy works at the level where that routine lives, so the new choices start to feel like your own.

How I work with you

In your first session, I map your eating in detail: the times, places and moods that set it off, and what each snack is really giving you. Then the change work begins. In the calm, focused state of hypnosis your mind is wonderfully open to fresh associations, and I use that openness with purpose.

  • Ericksonian hypnosis. I speak to you in your own language and imagery, so every suggestion fits your routines, your tastes and the moments that matter to you.
  • NLP techniques. Anchors and reframes weaken the pull of trigger foods and give you a settled, satisfied feeling to call on at exactly the moments that used to catch you out.
  • Future rehearsal. In hypnosis you see yourself shopping, cooking, eating out and walking the clifftop from Southbourne as the person you're becoming, until those choices feel familiar.
  • Self-hypnosis. I teach you a short routine that keeps the momentum going between sessions.

All of this sits alongside a sensible, calorie-controlled eating plan of your choosing, and the work makes that plan easier to follow day after day.

What a course looks like

Most clients choose the 7-hour course, usually five sessions spread over several weeks, so each change has time to settle into ordinary life. Every session builds on the last: you report back on what has shifted, I fine-tune the approach, and you leave feeling calm and clear about the next step. Sessions take place in person in Bournemouth (BH8) or online by video from anywhere in Dorset and beyond, and every one of them is with me personally.

Fees: £195 an hour in person, £150 an hour online, or the 7-hour course at £975 in person and £750 online. Full details are on the fees page, and it all begins with a free 15–30 minute consultation.

Questions

Will I have to give up the foods I love?

You decide what you eat. My work changes how strongly certain foods pull at you, so a treat becomes a choice you make calmly and enjoy.

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients book the 7-hour course, typically five sessions. I talk it through with you in the free consultation, so you know the plan from the start.

Can I have my sessions online?

Yes. Online sessions by video follow the same structure as sessions in Bournemouth. All you need is a quiet room, a comfortable chair and a good connection.

What does hypnosis feel like?

You stay aware and in control throughout. Clients describe a deeply pleasant, focused calm, rather like the moment just before sleep, and they hear my voice clearly the whole time.

Can I see you alongside my GP?

Yes. Keep taking any medication as prescribed: I'm happy to work alongside your GP or medical team.
